Artist's Statement

In my work photography acts as a support by which deconstructive operations question the nature and meaning of the photographic medium itself in its current circumstance of easy production, distribution and consumption. Based essentially in that the type of relationships we establish today with our reality is conditioned notably by the simulation and impersonation of experiences, my work has focused on the assembly of scenes based on a photographic attitude in order to reformulate notions in relation with its informative and documentary nature. These scenes determine particular scenes evoking patterns of representation – photographic or not – in our contemporary visual universe. Adherence to these standards is given by the intention of the generic question, from a methodology that seeks to confront our notions of reality with its new guidelines, determined based on a type of informational perception.
